with all the people
Mixed-age nurture
Children of 0-5 year old live together, rely on each other, conflict with each other, and teach each other to experience things which attract them or things which pose difficulties. Elderly children become leaders, and children choose their partners, places, and contents, and act with a rough schedule on their own. For 0 to 1 year old children, we consider as important, the formation of attachments and individual development support. And instead of categorizing them by school year, we provide nurture in line with the developmental stage, such as mastering how to walk.
Inclusive life
Instead of childcare based on the presence or absence of disabilities, we practice inclusive childcare where all children rely on each other, conflict with each other, and hold out their hands to each other, just like childcare of mixed ages. We don’t provide dedicated staff to children who need support, but we create an environment so that all staff members can understand the health and developmental status of children and let them choose what they want to do.
Sento day (public bath)
We nursery teachers cannot be more than parents to the children, but in order to become close to parents, nursery teachers and 3-5 year-old children go out together to a contracted public bath called “Sento” once a month and have a naked relationship. It is also one of the important regional exchanges for Doronko. Nothing is so good as the chilled milk just after the bath.
Shopping street tour
Aiming at local exchanges, seeing different kinds of jobs, talking with local adults, we take children once a week to local shops and companies in different domains such as finance, distribution and manufacturing. In “Question time to store managers”, children themselves ask the staff of store / company and learn directly.
Blue sky nurture
Once a month, childcare delivery is provided at the same park. Local parents with children and nurturer and children of Doronko share the same time and space.
