About fire
We guide the children to learn how to handle fire properly through burning something, keeping their bodies warm, using fire on a daily basis. Also, they develop their ability to recognize and think about various natural phenomena while interacting with fire, such as flammable and non-flammable trees, and differences between windward and leeward.
About water
A rainwater tank is placed in the courtyard so that children can use water at any time, think of changes in water shape and how to play by actually touching it. Children will expand their interest to playing with mud by creating an environment with plenty of water since the babyhood. For the nursery schools without a courtyard, we create opportunities in the daily life and playing, such as walking in the rain or playing in the streams.
About soil
We arrange scoops, shovels, watering cans and other tools appropriately so that children by themselves choose the way to play using tools and soil and the partner to play with, or explore how the soil change, which develops the ability to think and act on their own.
Bonfire childcare
A bonfire is set up to play outdoors even in winter. When there is a bonfire in the garden, children playing outside surround the fire and chat. Children can warm themselves up, make tea to serve the friends and their mothers, bake vegetables and sausages and make pork miso soup. If the facility don’t have a garden or can’t handle fire, go to a park where you can make a bonfire.
